Tooth Extraction including Wisdom Teeth
Sometimes a tooth or teeth become unrestorable due to several factors such as decay, fractures or merely their position. Such teeth need to be extracted. Tooth extraction may be needed as a part of orthodontic treatment in cases of crowding.
Wisdom teeth commonly need extraction due to insufficient space for them to be accommodated in the jaw. They usually tend to erupt halfway through the gum and be malposition causing problems such as inflammation/ infection of the gum, pressure onto the adjacent molar, bad breath, swelling of gums, pain and restriction in mouth opening.
They usually start giving problems in late teens so, it’s best to get them checked or removed as indicated.
